Key Ingredients

• Robust Vietnamese coffee grounds (robusta beans), ice cubes
• Hot water, optional sugar

Quick-Made Recipe

1. Place 20-25g coarsely ground dark-roast Vietnamese coffee in a traditional phin filter set over a glass filled with plenty of ice cubes (and optional sugar if desired).
2. Pour a small amount of just-boiled water to bloom the grounds for 30 seconds, then slowly add the remaining hot water in stages for a controlled drip.
3. Allow the strong black coffee to drip fully over the ice, taking 5–8 minutes for optimal extraction and immediate chilling.
4. Once dripped, stir vigorously to melt some ice and blend flavours evenly.
5. Sip slowly through a straw, enjoying the evolving intensity as the ice dilutes the boldness gently.
